how to secure kitchen table seat cushions

How do you experienced RV'rs secure your seat cushions at the kitchen table so they don't move yet are easily moveable for cleaning and getting to the storage area's underneath. I've tried velcro but the glue isn't strong enough and it pulls free from the plywood frame.
  • Manufacturer of my motorhome stapled friction mats to the plywood under the cushions. The material is available at most RV dealers.

Use heavy duty velcro and staple the velcro to the plywood base. And tack-sew the other velcro to the underside of the cushion.
  • Try the industrial Velcro. Make sure it is where you want it when you install it. I got mine at ACE Hardware.

I did exactly this on my View. WBO had used some grippy stuff stapled to the plywood and everything was gone except the staples. I removed them, sewed the 2 inch wide pile/loop material (no sticky on it) to the cushion near the very back on the bottom, applied the hook material (sticky on it) to it and placed the cushion firmly in place. Slid my hand in between to separate the hook and pile, then took my old Bostich staple gun and put about eight staples over the length of the edges of the hook. This combined with the sticky keeps it in place. The pile on the cushion would not be seen if you were to flip the cushion over, as the back cushion would cover it.

I removed the foam from the cover and sewed it on mom's old Singer. Not the prettiest stitching in the world but it worked.
