HWH 625 auto leveling system

I need some advice. I have a 2004 Fleetwood Terra with the HWH 625 auto leveling system.

while camping this past week i notice one of my jacks had came up off the ground about 3 inches. I dug out the maintenance manual and went through all the checks but one. which is to check the the hydraulic fluid level. The cap is suppose to have a dip stick and the fluid should be about one inch from the completely full level.
I know where the tank is, but what I can't figure out is how to get to it? its mounted on the outside of the frame between the frame and the generator. I can just reach the top of the reservoir over the top of the frame, but not enough to do any work.

any suggestions?

The auto level worked just as it should when we parked, and when we were packing up to come home the auto retract worked as it should.

thanks in advance

David

I would have them extended about 4 or 5 inches but not touching the ground. This will allow the fluid to rush thru the solenoid needle. IF retracted fully, no fluid will flow at all. Doug

  • Your fluid level is not the problem. It needs checked but it is not your problem. 625 auto level HWH systems have a sensor pressure switch on each jack. IF 1 or more jacks does not touch the ground and lift slightly, the Auto level will not function correctly. So, that one jack retracted after it was on the ground. That points to a leak in that jack system. If no fluid visible on the ground the Hyd Electric solenoid for THAT jack is leaking internally and allowing the jack to retract. so, what you do now is, manually open all 4 jack T handles at the solenoids and then tighten(close) them. That will allow any trash in the needle seat to get removed. If that does NOT fix that jack retracting you will have to replace that jack solenoid. Doug
  • The location of mine is also very difficult to access. I can reach around the manifold and by feel can locate the cap on the tank....just barely! If you can get your hand on top of the tank, you should be able to feel the cap. Mine is about 1 1/2 inch in dia...maybe 1 3/4. Turn about a 1/2 turn counter clockwise and it will come off. Be very careful about getting any dirt/grime in the tank or on the cap/dipstick. My HWH manual says to spray the top of the tank with WD-40 (or similar).

    Good luck
