HWH levelers

Last week I wrote about having a problem with the HWH levelers that would not retract...we have been parked at a different location for a week...the levelers went down when we got here, but tonight I attempted to raise the levelers...they would not retract...bled the pressure off the hydraulic lines and they retracted...will take it to the shop when I get home...thanks for all the suggestions on how to take care of the problem..guess the valves in the manifold are shot...the t-handle relief did not work again...oh the life of an RVer....

I received the shuttle valve today...installed it in about 45 minutes and the levelers worked as they should..thanks to Azpete for the advise....saved me a couple of hundred...and if our paths ever cross, I owe you lunch or supper....thanks

I'd think ALSO that this man..."dougrainer " would also deserve a thank you and pat on the back and a cold beer too..???:h

    I agree 110%.:B
  • doug did the first diagnosis and was absolutely right, i just recommended the same. if the op had used the manual, it would have confirmed the same.
just saying it best to have a service manual.

This happened to me one time and my Cylinder was slightly bent!

If you have HWH, to BEND a cylinder, meant you had to do something drastically wrong. Now, RVA cylinders are Aluminum and can bend easier. Doug
  • So, does it make sense to buy a shuttle valve and have it on board should a failure occur? Sounds like something all HWH owners should do. I haven't looked yet, what's the cost of the valve?

No, HWH had a few 10 years ago or so that did fail, but they rarely fail. I have not had a Shuttle valve fail on units built in the past 5 to 6 years or so. Doug
