hello again so I have had great success getting advice on here I figured I would try again. so I have a 96 allegro bay (gasoline) class A that we hare rebuilding. I have had it up on Jacks a couple of times & never had an issue before. this last time I had it up on its Jacks I noticed a little fluid around the front driver side jack. so I figu red it might have a small leak (it was not much). I let it off the Jacks & went to take off & the battery was bad. so I replaced the battery, & went to put it back on the jacks. I hit the levers & I hear a click but that is it.. I can move it in any direction & it just makes a click sound. this is with a new battery & connect to a 30 watt outlet. but non of the jacks come down. I checked the fluid level & or was a little low so I filled it up & still the same thing... any suggestions?

Recheck the last thing you did.....Works more times than you would think.:S

haha yeah sorry that would be a 30 amp plug sorry. & yes I was adding that to indicate power but my jacks will not work unless the key is turned on... is this normal? & no I have not checked the connections but I will do that.. just though it strange that the only thing was the dead battery & leaking fluid from front driver side jack & now it just clicks. I tried it tonight & I can see a small spark inside the box with the levers when I try to push them to on side or the other

Double check your battery connections make sure everything is clean and tight.

That would be a 30 AMP outlet.

And it would have no effect other than verifying that the batteries are charged.

Have you verified voltage at the jack motor with someone is trying to stow the jacks? All connections clean and tight?

I would be a rich man for every customer that stated he DID check that he connected all the battery cables(correctly or missed) after he changed the batteries. They come in, I show him the cable he missed and he pays me $100. Make sure you did NOT miss that 1 Jack battery cable. Tiffin runs a separate battery cable from the chassis battery to the jack pump on your model year. Also, the Click is the Ignition side power to the Jack solenoid. AND, the Cable at the battery is probably BLACK, not red on the positive. You probably connected that black to the negative of the battery. Doug

thanks Doug I have not checked the connections but will today & I only changed the crank battery it is separate from the chassis batterys that run parrellel to each other. but I will double check those connections. I appreciate it. also are u in Carrollton? that would be close enough for me if that is what u do? just want things checked out lol

ON mine you need the house batt.s on, in park with the ign. on, and the parking brake set. any of these left out and it will not work.

There are 2 battery systems
CHASSIS which is the same as CRANK which powers the HWH on your year
COACH which does NOT on your year

yeah sorry I misspoke so I have crank battery & 2 house batteries.. one thing I am wondering is I checked all the connections & everything is clean & tight. but I checked the 2 house battery's that are parallel & they both read 13.5 volts. since I have it plugged in. if I unplug the rv & separate the battery's the (battery) that the jack is on starts to drop volts immediately. so I am wondering if it is a bad battery & when I try to pull the power for the Jacks its not enough???
