Hydraulic Jacks

The front hydraulic jacks on my motorhome are controlled by one button (can't control each one separately), the rear jacks can be controlled individually. How do you level the motorhome if one side is lower than the other since both front jacks come down at the same time. Looking for guidance and tips.

You have a 4 footed tripod.. And you do NOT have a problem..

I'm not going to explain it to you I"m going to demonstarte it to you

You need a partner for one step and a floor jack or a small bottle jack or even a sizzors jack but I like a 2 ton floor jack for a host of reasons (It's what I carry for changing car tires when needed is the primary, also easy to use)

Now: Start with Jacks up, and extend them, with partner watching, When they are oh, about half way down (High enough to slip the jadck under) STOP (have parther yell STOP and STOP)

now, slide the floor jack under ONE of the front jacks and pump it up

As you will easily see as the one you are "Jacking" goes up.. the other goes down.. They are connected with a common "T" type connection (Though the "T" is a bit less than common,, Functionally it's a "T"). so they act as a signe jack And Teeter Totter as needed.

Thanks for the information, mine are Power Gear. I was concerned with the Jacks causing a twist and adding stress to the coach. With the front Jacks adjusting that will eliminate any stress.

Bingo. That is the design of your jacks. To prevent twisting of the front cap and popping the windshield or cracking it. Doug

  • X2. With POWERGEAR, the front jacks go down first, then the rear ones. Then, you level the coach. The rear ones (master) tell the front ones (slave) what to do.

With my coach, if the bubble is more than 1/2 bubble off the center, it's time for those plastic spacers under the tires on whatever side. Also put the spacers under where the jack(front and back) plates will go on the same side. Then level the coach.

    Works.
  • If they are Power gear like mine you level with the rear jacks. The front jacks can transfer fluid back and forth so when one side goes up the other side goes down.
