I-95 ga to Maine tollfees and transiting new York first time

You do not have to go thru NYC at all...95 up to 287 then north to NY Thruway..then east to Tappan Zee Bridge then use 287 there and 10 miles later you are in CT at exit 2...you don't want to get stuck on GWB...
