- ljr869ExplorerMost RVs over there are the 'Sprinter' type so they're a little more efficient than a huge Class A. Last time I was in the UK, many of the roads and towns wouldn't be able to accommodate a Class A but I saw many sprinters. Additionally, outside of sporting and social events, if you drive a RV you are considered a 'gypsy' and looked down upon.

My formula says (Canadian price per liter) times (3.785) divided (by the US Canadian exchange rate) equals (US price per gallon). I used conversion rate of $1.09US per #1.00C.
Isn't $1.689C/liter = to $6.39 per gal US??? - John___AngelaExplorer

Nah. I get around 5.90 plus or minus a couple cents. Gotta love the north for pricey fuel. I was posted in goose bay Labrador a couple decades back. Even pricey back then although I don't remember the exact number. - BUTCHPHIExplorerIsn't $1.689C/liter = to $6.39 per gal US???
- RLS7201Explorer IIYou don't have to go to France to spend that kind of money on fuel. I spend over $6.00 a gallon for gas in northern BC & Yukon last year.
It may be that high in the US by the time you get back?
Richard - pigman1ExplorerYukon government is reporting $1.689C/liter for Dawson. With conversion that's about $5.87US/gal. $4.65 in Tok and Seward, AK, and $4.45 in San Francisco. We're running hard to catch up.
- John___AngelaExplorerIf you make it down to Spain and are looking for a beach camping spot head for Tarifa. Lots of wind surfers there. From there you can put the rig on the fast ferry to Morroco or just leave it in the campground and stay in a hotel. It was an amazing cultural experience for us and the first time we were in a Muslim country. Excellent trip. Happy trails. Keep us posted on your trip.
- obgrahamExplorerHeavens, I saw all sorts of RV's in Switzerland this past May. Despite the horrendous fuel costs and road taxes.

Granted, I'm currently in France. It's no wonder RVing isn't as popular here as it is in the United States.
57.32 Euros for 43.46 Liters. Doesn't sound as bad if you think of it in liters.
I thought diesel would be higher. Before this thread gets too far off track, tell us about where you, where you are going and what type of RV have you rented.
Sounds like a lot of fun!
Have a safe trip!

:) :) good question:@
Do they also have free Health Care to their citizens there?
Depends on the country. Most Places in Europe consider healthcare a right not a privilege. Some are single payer like Canada, some are government and some are a combo. Spain is an example of a combined system. We just spent 9 weeks in Europe and made a point of talking to locals about the different systems and how they are evolving. Very interesting.
