My GF is pretty good about the clothes. She had seen me pack several times for a month long trip to Central America and I get everything in a backpack that will fit in an overhead ( except my fishing pole :) ) . Last year I took her on a backpacking trip to Mexico and Belize...bought her the same size backpack that I use. She amazed me and got everything she needed ( not wanted ) in the backpack. Then we started camping this March and the pack light idea was carried over, with just a little splurging ( 17 footer ). Our philosophy now is: 1- you will laundry every so often no matter how much you carry so why not just rotate a smaller wardrobe. 2- Anything important can be found at Walmart etc.. Of course all women are not like this, took a long trip once with my ex, carried 3-4 suitcases and bought a huge one to bring more stuff back.
