If you bought from PPL RV comment please

Were you happy with the motorhome you purchased from them, or why you passed on the deal. Any comments regarding your experience. First hand only please. Thank you

  • I live in Houston area, I purchased a Motorhome from PPL , It is a consighnment lot, Rv's of all types. You can see every make and model, some in great shape some not. I thought they treated me fair , I go and look at their inventory fairly often, no hassle no pressure from sales people. If you see one you would like to drive go find a salesman and go for a ride. I have used them for mail order parts as well. No complaints from me.One of my friends has bought and sold through PPL he seamed happy with the results.PPL also has a service department as well. You can also have them do basic evaluation of systems for about $300 dollars.
  • We bought our first DP from them years ago. We found them to be professional and responsive. The only negative, IMHO, is they advertised the unit as "clean and detailed". After OUR thorough cleaning, the beige carpet was actually blue.....:W...I would not hesitate to buy from them again.......Dennis
  • Another huge advantage is that you can, at your leisure, look at over 100 used RV's in one place.

As already mentioned, the vast majority are consignment coaches-- read that, some in excellent condition with great "care and feeding" and others neglected.

Yes, a very quality organization, but understand the above.
  • After hearing all the good comments on this forum about PPL I stopped in to check them out.

IMO, they are as good as your local RV place that is also good. You need to exercise all the same concerns their as anywhere.

I think where the biggest bang comes from is they are located in an area that you can RV 10-12 months out of the year. The buyer population is larger then in other parts of the country opening up your rig to more buyers.
  • On the flip side of the coin, a good friend of mine sold his class A coach there a couple of years ago and was please with the whole transaction. They take a 10% commission.

I'm thinking of taking our coach there to sell. I wish they had outlets for all the units to be plugged in. The salesman told my friend that his coach started every time because he had extra solar panels on the roof, the coach never needed a boost.

    Good luck,
    MM.
  • I purchased my current rig from them at theNew Braunfels location. Enjoyed doing business with them. Everything they sell is used and there is no warrenty so throughly check out anything you purchase.
  • We purchased a TT from the New Braunfels location last May. They know their business and were totally professional. They will be my first stop when we buy again.
