No problem......just pointing out how everyone camps differently and it's almost impossible to determine what one person needs versus another.

We were camping last weekend at a local lake with our kids. The guy behind us brought what looked like half of the Camping World catalog. They do a particular type of camping and like to cook outside. They had a washing machine tub, like ours for the campfire, yet theirs had a disc (used in discing fields) as a top with a large exhaust pipe. It had a huge cone stand. Just between his tub and mine, he needed three times the space to transport his.

Just so many variables. You really need to give us more info on how YOU like to camp to really give you good ideas or suggestions on what works or doesn't work.

As an example.....I wanted a coach that was a true 40', not 40' 11" or 41' 2". I also wanted a tag axle in that size. The only coach that fit my needs was the 40' Dutch Star. With my choice, came a loss of storage space compared to other 40's, a decision I could live with. Now if you give us more info, we can give back things like info on loss of storage space.

Man I am sorry if I sounded snarky. Its just that when I read your post it sounded as if you were dismissing everyone who took their time in responding to my post. as if their replies were not relevant. So many things to consider...everyone is different...but at the same time having many many things in common. Space is something everyone has to manage. I did not ask about budget, amenities or how to use the rv. Just about size and space. The other questions will come later. I have a few years before I buy. Thanks for your time...dont get upset. We will both be around here a long time.

We prefer the larger living space. Since I don't mind driving the larger unit that seems to be a good fit for us. Smaller won't be in the picture for us anytime soon.

I gave you good points to think about regarding how you'll use your coach and with what amenities and budget, yet you come back with a snarky answer.

Well to the both of you thank you for your opinion. but since I have already asked the question your point is mute. I know there are differences and there are more ways and styles of rving than just one. I am only trying to understand what other's experience have been. You know educating oneself so as not to make the same mistakes before dropping a load of cash. Then wishing for something differant. If you read my OP you would have learned that this is the first step of educating myself. If everyone is having the same thoughts (which they do not) I would have learned that. As far as what I learned so far I will do exactly what you said I should not do... apply it to my situation, that is as you say, everyone does something different. I have also learned you make do with what you have.

floor plan and washer drier is a must for us which was in the 36

40 ft is our compromise between 36 ft we view as our smallest for full time and 45 ft tag

Dan, my brother and his wife have the 36 ft. Allegro RED with four slides. It's perfect for size and width.

We only do RV parks so we never have a problem with 45 ft.
