I guess I am lucky here, Mercedes dealer services Sprinters and I have a dealer South of me some 30 miles and about the same distance North of me, both on Vancouver Island, BC. There are lots of Sprinters on the road here doing commercial work and MB even has special bays for servicing them. So far my PW has been bullet-proof.

The catch is traveling in the US prairie states where MB Sprinter service can mean a 300-400 mile tow or a very long drive in "limp home" mode. It is why I purchased a Chevy based vehicle.
Yes. i see your point. Still, my BCAA RV insurance coverage will cover 600 miles of shipping so I should be able to find a dealer capable of fixing it een in the US Prairies, many of which I have travelled before. Limp mode can occur with a Ford or Chevy re many reasons so that is something to consider(throttle positioner valve for example). It took 5 days to get the tpv from Ford and have it installed. That would be quite a pain on the Prairies too. I was lucky as it occurred as I was driving to Duncan, just 8-10 miles away from the dealer. We all need to remember that dealerships dont stockpile parts and if you need a part for ANYTHING, be prepared to wait.
