low pressure due to low vapor pressure. as you use propane gas, more gas vapors of the liquid portion in the bottle as it boils off, it lowers the temperature of the remaining liquid until it cannot vapor off fast enough to maintain the pressure. more tanks connected equals more surface area to boil off vapor.
