One more tip. Stay away from the real big slides that go from one end to the other. We have several members that have those hugh slides and they are nothing but problems. Constantly getting out of adjustment and just too much weight on the bearings.

Depends....When we bought our Newmar new we definitely only wanted two slides and they had to be on the driver's side. We utilized forest service campgrounds, state parks and other public parks and we didn't want to deal with placement of the RV within the trees. It was easier to situate it having to worry only about one side of the motorhome. We also wanted a large patio area. We didn't need a large floor area inside.

It worked for us for 10 years!

This ^^^^ is a good reason to do a lot, and I mean a lot of test drives, etc. when looking for a rig. Never buy sight unseen - so to speak, is the best advise.

Have you ever owned an RV before? What did you think of it? If you aren't test-driving units, you won't know if you like them. As I wrote, I test drove many when stepping up from my first Class A diesel. I decided to down size to a Class C in my case. It suits me just perfectly in what I use my RV for.

Chowan, I also have a Gulf Stream Scenic Cruiser that we bought brand new for 212K. I bought the Gulf Stream because we fell in love with the floor plan, my buddy bought a DutchStar at the same time. He wanted a well recommended coach. I have had very good luck with mine, He has had terrible luck with his.
So that is why I always say that you can get a good or bad coach on any brand. I think it takes a little bit of luck sometimes.

Only problem I will say is that Gulf Stream had real poor customer service. They hardly ever answered the phone for many customers.

But I will never recommend a Gulf Stream coach to anybody because I think every person should do their own research and have some mechanical knowledge about these expensive toys. And if they do not have any, then you should hire somebody that does.

Mr. Univmed, wow, you were brave going with a brand new unit, being a newbie and had never driven one before.

That was a big chunk of change, especially, if you didn't like it or the lifestyle.
