Inexpensive RV for Hunting Property

Good morning folks,
I am looking to purchase an inexpensive RV that will only be used for hunting trips to my hunting property 1.5 hours away. I only need it to sleep up to 4 adults. My siblings and my dad. I don't want anything fancy, I just need somewhere warm to sleep in at night during deer season. I found the following which I thought was reasonable but I don't know if this is a good RV that can last me some time with basic maintenance. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

1988 Bounder , 36' RV with 455 Big Block gas engine. AT, Refrigerator, stove, microwave, washer, dryer, 2 beds, table with chairs, couch, chair and a FULL bath. Heat and AC , awning and generator.
45,410 miles.
Runs good. Please CALL with any questions emails are not checked often. $3500 will consider partial trade

    Oh, I don't know about "plenty" - My 88 Bounder has about 50K actual miles on the clock, and hasn't skipped a beat for us in three years since we've owned it, or the previous owner's 14 years. Cross country in summer of 2012, no problems at all. The Chevy 454 has been around for years and is in about 80 gazillion UPS trucks, bread trucks, step vans, Suburbans, et cetera.

    But I agree about getting a trailer vs a MH for this application.

    Yep, a TT would be the way to go plus the ground clearance would be a boon over a MH. Besides, TT's are set up for 4-6 people sleeping.

    I thought he said he was taking it there every year, not leaving it there. Might decide to go to the beach during the summer and most of you leave your RV sitting a lot, if not most, of the time with minimal problems. Some in storage facilities away from home.......and that is a good deal for what you will be using it for. Make sure everything works and you can dump the tanks where ever there is a dump station........Isn't that a 454 engine?????

    Get a towable, not a motorhome. You will never be able to move it once it is there with the motorhome. The animals will eat the wires and the engine will eventually seize up. How would you ever remove it? Find a decent older trailer. I would recommend alumninum not something that will delaminate. Get the roof and window sealed good. Seal up the underside with steel wool in the teeny holes to prevent the mice. Some replace the toilet with a composting toilet to avoid what to do with the black water. Some folks have made quite the hunting lodge out of an older camper. Many of the older ones have four bunks I the back and room up front. I would avoid anything with slides. Keep it simple.

    You should be looking at a trailer, not a Motorhome based on your reported needs.

    You don't need to insure the trailer, maintain its engine or any of that stuff. You can get a TT without a title advertised as a "hunting camper" usually for $1000 or less.

    We used a cargo trailer for several years for this purpose. It all depends on what conveniences you need but it is amazing what can be done for very little money.
