- John_JoeyExplorerJust an update, took a look at the rig and it was pretty much in need of repair to get it to my standards. The new tires were really six years old, other than the very shiny body I found corrosion everywhere, all interior woodwork would need to be sanded and revarnished, dirty carpet, AC running to probably cover up a pet order, leak in rear door seal, a fridge that says "clean me." This was all found within a few minutes, and I wasn't even working that hard.
The real killer was the DW saying it was way too small for our use. I'm now guessing that the best answer for us is a small 5'ver/truck combo.
FWIW, of all the different RV (types) forums I posted on in RV.Net, I got the best answers off of this one. I have a whole new respect for the class B's and those that own them.
Thanks again. - John_JoeyExplorer

I understand, my scenario is a tad different. I'll be using the B to go between two destinations. Taking 4-6 weeks between each. The B would be used in conjunctions with hotels/family/friends when the need arises. At least that is the current concept, but it's not set in stone. - stan909ExplorerPeople usually buy a class B so they don't have to have a toad.
- John_JoeyExplorerThank you for all of the great input. I am really surprised at the comments about not pulling a toad.
Toad is 2,500lbs and pulled behind my Class A F53 V8 460 like nothing. I would think a B would make short order of that task. :h - qhorExplorerWe have a Leisure Travel Van '97 on the Dodge chassis. Spacers, airbags. Bilstein shocks and good tires make a big difference in the handling, if it does handle iffy. Ours has a 5.9 engine which is great, however the previous owner pulled a toad and we had to rebuild the tranny at about 110,000 kms.
Has been a great van, however I would not tow with it no matter what engine, tranny cooler, or towed vehicle.
Barr - charlesExplorerI just sold my 1995 Dodge Pleasure-way last month. It had 103,000 miles on it. It had the 318 Dodge engine and they also came with a 360. If you are going to tow you might want to make sure it has the 360 and a transmission cooler and check the towing capacity, it might only be 3,500# max. My unit had the transmission replaced at 72,000 miles at a cost of $3,200.00. Handling was great, and no wheel spacers. I'm not 100% sure but I believe the handling problems started in models later than 1995 as I also had a 2001 Lexor and the handling was terrible until I put on the wheel spacers.
Nick - mepboatExplorerWe adopted our 2010 PW this past February. What a great decision. We have had several offers already to sell but that is not gonna happen !!! We are on a Ford 350 with the big 10 engine. We put on 6,000 miles in the first few months and have not noticed any wind problems. Pay particular attention to the tire pressures. It does change the handling considerably it you are off on this. We have not towed with this yet but I don't think that there will be any problems by what we have heard from others with PW's. We also use this as a second vehicle and drive as much as we can to keep things running well. Being in the south we do not winterize but we do keep the tanks empty and maintenance is always up. We are getting ready for our next adventure now in our B class...B safe...B happy...Go RVing!!!
- IslandmanExplorer IIWe have a 2001 PW on the Dodge chassis, have no problems in handling and it has the original factory shocks and is not equipped with wheel spacers. You need to be careful on towing, your Saturn might be too much for the PW's transmission over a period of time.
