I've been able to keep my insurance at $1200/year for the last ten years with National Interstate on the rig below. Stopped the replacement coverage, went to agreed value and reduced each year, no claims, good credit, and no moving violations... so they wanted $1600 this year.
Shopped around and ended up with Progressive for $1200 BUT liability only is $168 and I can call and go to full coverage when it's not in storage. As half timers this will get me down to $700/year with some risk when not in use.
