- nelsonExplorerI have thought of doing the same to my bedroom slide. I don't see where it would be a issue but am interested in what you find out and what you do. Good luck.
- As someone who has removed the skin and have fixed rotted slide rooms, IF the OEM did not install a window, then it is not wise to try and cut a hole and install a new window. The strutural integrity of slide rooms is all based on as little weight as possible. So, they do not install standard aluminum or wood studs like in a regular wall in the RV. The odds are, if you decided to cut a hole, you may end up cutting one of the few wood/aluminum studs that give the slide out wall box its strength. Doug
- crassterExplorer IITo clarify are you talking about installing WINDOWS or Window units as in A/C window units?

Not unless you plan on never bring the slide in or out again. It would have to be a small A/C and would not cool a very large area. What's wrong with your roof air?
A/C????? We're apparently on different wavelengths here......I want to put WINDOWS (like I've seen in other DP slides)in the ends of my living/dining slide.......and my info is IN my sig, 2004 Coachmen Cross Country
I think if you would have said just WINDOWS and not WINDOW UNITS in your original post there would be no confusion.
Funny I don't see your info in your sig. :h - Shadow_CatcherExplorerAs some one else said I would be concerned with structural integrity, they are in all likelihood a stress panel and holes would weaken them.

I think window units are windows.

- FIRE_UPExplorerWell,
It always helps to know what year, make, model etc. of the rig you're planning on doing this on. And, a possible quick call to the manufacturer, if that manufacturer is still in business might reveal the internal structure of the ends of the slides.
