- BillofPAExplorerIf I turn off the washer/dryer breaker it shows 30 amps when plugged in to 50 amp. That breaker must be on.

Has your display EVER shown 50amps. Mine only shows 20 or 30 even though we are on 50..it's never shown 50 and my manual indicates, even though you're on 50 it will only show 30..:h....Dennis
Ours never shows 50 either.. 20, or 30, but can be set to 50 with the button. - bobmaccExplorerAs others have suggested, make sure ALL your breakers are turned on. I had turned off the Engine Heater breaker for the summer and had the same problem you had. Turned out the Intellitec sense lead for one side of the 50amp service was connected to the output of that breaker. Turned it on and all was back to normal.

First make sure all breakers are closed, even if there not in use.. Second, I'd say the shore power is using two parallel 120 volt circuits, and they show up as 30 amp on the panel.. Check voltage across the two hot lines and you should get "0".. This has happened once or twice to us.. You should be OK since you don't have any 240 volt stuff.. Mike Mathews..
Might want to check this site
Voltage across two hot lines is 240 volts. - YC_1Nomad

You probably already know this, but on my ems there is a selector switch that you can change. Maybe yours is selected for 30 amps.
I believe when on 50 amp you cannot select the amperage. - Big_KatunaExplorer II

The option is to switch between 20 or 30A. Mine isn't detecting 50A when I have verified that it connected to 50A. - vanceExplorerYou probably already know this, but on my ems there is a selector switch that you can change. Maybe yours is selected for 30 amps.

The ems has to see both legs of the 120 volts.
VIX shows what you should measure.
That's the page I was hoping to find. I'll measure it tomorrow. I know all the jumpers are ok as it was working fine a few weeks ago. I'm guessing a marginal connection gone bad or a lighting related surge; we have been getting slammed the last few weeks.
I'll report back. - mscampingExplorerFirst make sure all breakers are closed, even if there not in use..
