I check the batteries routinely and have added water whenever needed. There hasn't been a time when the water level was too low. The cables have been lubricated with truck lube and there is NO corrosion on them whatsoever. Corrosion and low water are not issues here.
I'm not sure what 'truck lube' is but there are some lubes that block the voltage from battery to the terminal. Make sure you are using the right stuff.
