Inverter problems

I have a 2012 Itasca Suncruiser 37F. The remote panel to the inverter quit working. I begin checking and noticed that when the unit is not on shore power the inverter does not operate. I plugged in my cell phone on the outlet located on the inverter itself and nothing.
I made sure the battery disconnect was not turned off.
The batteries are charged and are around 12 volts.
The inverter is a Xantrex Pro XM1000
Checked all fuses.
The radios in the coach work but no TV's.
1. How long should the inverter last? I would think 4 years at least.
2. Any ideas?
Thank you
  • charging should be over 13v
it should float fully charged batteries at 13.2v
    high charge should be 14.4

most inverters shut off around 11~11.5 under load, then have to be reset

you got a problem, try a disconnect reset, see if it charges at a higher voltage
wait until the batteries are charged, then try the invert function
invert works when shore power is disconnected

no power pass thru, when connected, could indicate a burned out pass thru relay or control circuit failure
  • Could be just the remote has failed. Try a reboot by disconnecting all 120v and 12v power for a bit then reconnect. I would test with a 60w incandescent lamp or a voltmeter over the phone charger. Voltage normally reads low on most meters for MSW.

Consider this an opportunity to move up to sine wave power.
  • around 12 volts? I think 12 volts is 50%. its possible maybe it has shut down because of being that low. that would also indicate the charging portion is not working
