The battery charger in the Xantrex my run directly to the batteries. With the batteries gone there is nothing to send power 12V power to the coach.
My Xantrex fan used to cut in almost immediately when charging or when inverting. The fan rarely ran when the batteries were fully charged and plugged into shore power but any other combination generally caused the fan to run.
