Wolfe, I do have the dash light. I have not had them go on by themselves while connected to the RV but I did have them go off once in the driveway after a real downpour. I unplugged them at that time.
I am aware of the failsafe and it does work. After about 15 seconds they release, however one tap of the brakes and the cycle will start again.
I think the company may have resolved the problem in later units but not sure. I am tired of messing with ill mannered toad brakes and will change to the simple Ready Brute in the future.
I believe the issue is a tiny bit of leakage voltage across the diodes feeding back and fooling the invisibrake into thinking it is seeing a brake input. Most issues I have heard of are during a lot of rain and water contributing to the issue.
With that said I may try pulling the two brake light fuses in the Toad to try and remedy the issue. I have not pressed the brakes and had someone tell me if the brakes lights come on under the setup conditions of the toad. That is, in neutral, ignition button in accessory position. It is a keyless ignition so the brakes may indeed be hot. Heck, maybe I will venture out tonight to check.
