"It really isn't fair to compare them for they address different markets."
I could not agree more. Each manufacturer seeks a particular niche in the marketplace. Some do a better job than others. The right coach is largely determined by how (and how often), you will use it and of course your budget. I am sure most would agree that there is a lot of junk out there, usually euphemistically referred to as "Entry Level" which often equates to "How cheap can we build these things". :B
IMHO:
Lazy Daze has a great reputation and they put to rest the "gotta have a slide" nonsense.
Born Free and Coachouse lead the field with their one piece fiberglass shells but can be a little smallish or in the case of Born Free very limited layouts.
Phoenix Cruiser and Nexus give buyers the factory direct option but it necessitates a more proactive, hands on buying experience hopefully by knowledgeable RV'ers.
The upper end Winnebago's and Itasca lines compete well in this market.
The high end B's and B+'s (Leasure, Roadtrek, Pleasureway, Airstream etc.),seem to be the highest price for what you get but they sure are pretty.
Perhaps if I had sufficient disposable income to drop $125,000 to $150,000 on 24ish C/B+ I might.... but doubt it. Our use involves being outside about 13+ hours a day, no grandkids and a strong preference for off the grid camping/touring. For us, our Nexus 23P is the perfect coach, solid construction with all of the bells and whistles at a reasonable cost. She's certainly not the prettiest (Ron, you win that one hands down),
but we are happier with our choice with every passing mile.
Here is our Phantom 23P at McArthur Burney Falls SP in northern California:
As always.... Opinions and YMMV.
