Amazing to me how many people are afraid of the freshwater tank/system in their RVs. The systems are designed specifically to store and provide fresh potable water, that includes drinking. In 1989, we bought our first RV, a used 1979 model; never sanitized the tank, used it for 10 years for drinking, bathing, cooking, etc. In 1999, bought our current RV, a used 1988 model; Sanitized the tank when we first brought it home by adding a 1/2 cup of bleach to the tank (even though there was no unpleasant taste/smell), and then once again about 5 years ago after it sat for 2 1/2 years unused. Amazingly, neither my wife, myself, our 3 kids, nor any of the numerous "guests" over the years have ever gotten sick. My wife prefers bottled water for drinking because of a slight "plastic" taste from the RV tank, but the rest of us drink from the RV with no problem. Coffee, cooking, bathing...all from the onboard tank
Most city water systems have some bleach in the water; if you are filling your tank from that most of the time, it will stay reasonably fresh. For those that are afraid of lines they "can't see inside"; you also can't see inside your pipes at home, yet you drink the water from those, don't you?
