Itasca SunStar vs Coachman Pursuit vs Thor Ace

We are looking at buying a new coach, and considering the Thor Ace 30.1, the Itasca Sunstar 30T and the Coachman Pursuit 31 BD, al are Ford Triton V10 with similar levelers generators , a/c but slightly different interior features, all offer drop down over cab beds which we want. We are not sure about construction quality, reliability, and other difference between brands and models. Can you help with some feedback or experiences

Thanks

I assume by "try out" you mean just to simulate the use, not to actually ...............

  • I owned a new 2013 Thor ACE 27.1 for 3 months. Took a loss and traded it in on a new 2013 Winnebago Vista 27N. Not happy about loosing the money but very glad to be rid of the ACE. The ACE had very poor handling, wandered all over the road, the fit and finish was poor, lots of rattles and bangs. Check some of the other threads about ACE handling. I had multiple water leaks, exterior and interior trim pulling off, one pocket door pulled off the rollers and jammed blocking the bedroom, and those are just the high points. When you are going through an ACE just for fun try out the throne. Unless you're over 6 feet, your toes will barely touch the floor.
The Winnebago handeled well without any add-ons or modifications right from the beginning. The fit and finish is good, cabinets are sized to be useable and are good quality. I only had two very minor warranty issues with the Vista
  • X3 on the Winnebago. I had a 2011 Vista 35f for two years and was quite happy with it. There have been some horror stories on here regarding Thor products but I can only speak from my experiences with two Winnebago Class A units.

  • For construction quality, reliability, and other differences it is easy choice of Winnebago/Itasca.

Thor does not have a fiberglass roof. It's TPO. But I have been very happy with their customer support. I find the fit and finish about the same. Perhaps Winnie may be a bit better quality, but personally I think their interior is a bit stark and dated by comparison. Not to ruffle feathers that's just my opinion
