Having said that, have you checked any online resources for transmitter location and distance? I normally get the best reception by pointing the arrow of the Jack opposite the transmitter I'm trying to get.
You might be right maybe there is only twelve channels available in my area. Looks like I would have picked up a few more though from farther away.
