This works well on old Budd wheels, if you re-torque the inner nuts before you put outside back on. But on hub-piloted, it's a good way to shear studs. Either when it shifts far enough, and weight is on the studs, or when just a little, and proper torque will not pull back in place. As soon as you roll, the lugs are loose.
