Jacks will not go down

I have not used my RV in a while a brought it home to clean it up and go out this Friday. My problem is my jacks will not go down. I do have my parking brake on. It on clicks, but nothing goes down. The lights come on in the jack panel indicating it's not level and that it's turned on.

Two things I should mention. I noticed mouse droppings inside motorhome, I don't guess there is a chance they chewed wires?

Next, last time I took it out, I purchased new coach batteries and the gut at interstate battery did not know what he was doing and could not figure out how to hook it back up in series (2 batteries). I think I used my jacks, but I'm not positive.

Any suggestions

The transmission must be in PARK, the parking brake must be ON and the system must be operational otherwise (no faults)...... The indicator lights on the panel are usually a good indication of the brake/transmission status.

Alas, on mine there are multiple issues, (IE: Controls failed, so did the pump) I built a manual control board (Switches and relays) the parking brake is my major pain (I often have to try 2or3 times) but I need to replace the pump assembly as well (OUCH).
  • On mine, the panel will lite, but not work if the ignition key is off, Looks like everything is getting power but will not work with the key off.. just another idea. That and I had to reset the parking brake a few times..
  • First: What brand and model jacks?
Second: Are your batteries fully charged?
Third: Do any lights on the control panel turn on when you turn the jack panel on?
  • On mine, the light only comes on to tell you that you don't have the parking brake on. I tested that to see if it would come on if I did not have it on and it does. I have tried doing the brake on and off several times, changing gears, nothing works. I pulled the wiring harness out and it looks ok.

I've tried the breakers, that did not work. Don't think fuses in my panel have anything to do with it.

Looked at battery, don't see any non connected wires.
  • Is the parking brake warning light coming on when the brake is set? If the parking brake switch is dirty (corroded) then the warning light won't illuminate, and that is the circuit that tells the jacks that its OK to function. Spraying some contact cleaner on the switch (behind the park brake pedal, below the dash) will usually work.
