We've been flat towing our Currie Enterprises built 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Tom Raider Limited Edition for 2 years and 12,000 miles with our 2011 Winnebago View 24K with absolutely no issues. Our Wrangler is several hundred pounds heavier that stock with its long list of off road / performance upgrades including 35" tires, Kenne Bell supercharger, Warn 9000 lb. winch, Currie 4" lift + body protection, and dual 5 gallon gas cans. Stock weight was 3,832 lbs. so its probably 4,200 lbs. now.
We use a Brake Buddy which basically has our Wrangler stop itself. We've had a couple of panic stops to miss a moose in Alaska and idiot drivers in SoCal traffic and both our view and Brake Buddy equipped Wrangler performed flawlessly. We;ve also taken our View / Wranlger combo up and down several extremely steep roads including the road into Whistler, Palomar Mountain in San Diego County and Towne Pass to Death Valley in BLAZING heat. The Views Mercedes turbodiesel engine and 5-speed transmission provides a wide range of engine braking so we've never had any brake issues... unlike several Class A owners towing similar vehicles. The cooling system is excellent, NEVER overheating, even in the HOT temperatures we see in the California deserts.
Bottom line: The View is awesome for towing from our experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED even with a HEAVY 1999 to 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.
