I had a similar problem, my radio was the Magnadyne with the weather channel feature.
If I selected house battery to power the radio, then turned the house battery switch off (to save the batteries), then when I entered the motorhome and turned the battery switch on the radio would automatically come on and start playing at a fairly loud volume.
If I select chassis power (engine battery), there is a keep alive voltage and the radio will not come on unless I turn it on. On my system it appears that if I completely remove power, then when power is reapplied the radio will automatically turn on. If I never turn off the house power or if I leave the radio connected the to engine battery then I don't have that problem.
My solution was to replace the radio with one that does not have the weather channel feature. I have a dedicated weather radio with Specific Alert Message Encoding (same) feature, its portable so I can take it with me when hiking or biking, or in the Motorhome, or the car when traveling.
However, now if I select the house battery and turn the battery switch off the new radio looses all programing and I have to reset everything.
