just purchased Class C with problems trading for a Class A

So in a nutshell...10 items which need repair. Some are of major concern.. Very disappointed in Forest River and Camping World in Manassas, Virginia. We told them we do not want the Class C anymore. We believe this is a lemon! We talked about it and decided to just trade it in for a Class A Forest River Georgetown XL. Do you think it will be any better or all of them the same. We don't mind a problem or two but ours is ridiculous ...
  • What are the items needing repair, curious as to your interpretation of "major concern". Personally if the problems were enough to make me trade it back in I don't think I'd go with the same brand again. Whatever you do, Good Luck.

You'll be trading 10 known problems for an unknown number of new problems. Could be a 2 or could be 20.
  • 1st mistake buying from Camping World, 2 mistake buying Forest River
  • I have owned all Winnebagos and traded too many times. I have noticed quality control slipping. Not on big items but small things taht cn be fixed or you live with like cheap molding not glued well or wrinkled wallpaper at windows. Two in a row the washing machine hot and cold were reversed. Theyhave paid for things to be fixed or replaced but should noy have left the factory.

If you buy new now, expect stupid problems. These things are put together by people that work in an assembly line... it's hit or miss for screws to fit backing or even more important things. Most of these things experienced RV owners fix themselves and make a note about but don't complain. If you want to complain, expect a long wait and not a very happy result it seems.

IMHO buying at the top of the pack pays for itself easily and quickly, but trying to buy into the lower levels it a hit or miss good luck story.

IOW, buy a Prevost or an Airstream if you want a trailer and live happily ever after.

  • Unhappy with a Forest River RV so you are purchasing another....Forest River RV?
    Charley and Warren thank you!
  • If it's a FR product, expect issues. Build quality is hit and miss. My FR is fine, I got lucky but I read about lots of people who aren't lucky.

Mine must have been built on a Wednesday between lunch and 4 PM.
