Keeping cool in 95 degree heat...

Hey good folks,
I'm gonna be on the road with my wife, daughter and grandkids in 95 degree heat. The dash A/C just got fixed but if that's not enough do you folks turn on the generator and run the house A/C's while you're on the road?

~Thanks, John
  • Run the gen and air. Usually close the bedroom and just run the front air. Use it. That is why you have it and it is good for the gen to get a workout. I also use the dash air to cool off the front sometimes if needed when parked. When it is super hot you have to use all the tools. A fan to circulate air also helps.
  • Right now 95 degrees would be positively chilly! On the way out to the Colorado River we run the Onan and all three air conditioners. The rig is already cool when we get there and we don't have to wait so long for the rig to become comfortable.

  • We watch the inside temp on the thermostat. Once over 90 measured from various parts of the coach or so we turn on the gen and the air.
