- pnicholsExplorer IINote that Koni offers only one set of FSD shock part numbers that supposedly are for BOTH the E350 and the E450.
This doesn't seem right to me: In order to properly deal with the additional weight that an E450 chassis under a motorhome most likely would be carrying, the same part number FSD shock would be overall too stiff for an E350 - wouldn't it? You can't have it both ways without a compromise somewhere somehow. I would feel more comfortable with the E350/E450 FSD shocks that Koni is offering if they had different part number sets for the two different chassis.
I'll probably soon (42,000 - 44,000 miles on our current original Ford shocks) try these new Koni FSD shocks -> taking a slight chance that they'll make a pretty good improvement in the hits from highway cracks. My E450 chassis is lightly loaded with our RV - as an E350 chassis could easily carry our motorhome's weight - so the current FSD shock set Koni is offering will probably work great for us. - j-dExplorer IITo my knowledge, we've had one Class C owner to add FSD's and he thought the ride was slightly worse. He has not reported back. I don't know if there's a break-in period for them. There was for some Monroe automotive front struts.
- GrumpyandGrandmExplorerI put them on my KODIAK Super C and they did improve the ride they are designed to soften the "hit".
- pnicholsExplorer III may install them in the rear only, sometime this year, and will post here on how they perform. However, we have only a small 24 foot Class C but on the heavy duty E450 chassis ... so it needs something in the rear for those lateral highway cracks.
The newer Michelin M&S"2" tires I put on it help too, but I'm hoping that the FSD Koni's step up the comfort another notch.
