Had that problem myself. Steps were bent (multiple times in fact) ended up replacing the Steps.. Got new ones (Well used) from Vizone RV (I think tha'ts the name) Just off I-75 north of London, KY.
Between happening and replacement (Which was done by myself and my good friend Jack.. (that's 12 tone air/hydraulic bottle jack from harbor freight.. did not use air, just pump handle) the job was fairly easy.
Betwen the first time it happened and replacement I just "Assisted" the motor a bit with my toe..
Kwikee controllers do not use LIMIT switches, instead they sense motor current, when it climbs above a Threshold (preset at factgory) it assumes the steps have either reached the limit of travel or encountered an obstruction. Basically a good system but if there is any binding it shuts off early.
