Ladder or step stool suggestions

Was in the Coachmen with the overhead bunk this weekend, full house van. I needed to sleep upstairs. THe ladder I got is one of those cheap aluminum two pole types you see at rv stores, came with the van. It is really tough to store in the van and keep out of the way until needed.

Anyone have a suggestion for a ladder or step stool that folds up real small but extends to about 5 ft or so? I've seen some telescoping types at Costco but not short.

Thanks,

CB

I carry the two step folding one but that isn't going to be tall enough to get up into the bunk bed I bet...

You are probably going to need something with at least four steps...

I did a search on google search and they have one of these RV BUNK BED LADDERs

It doesn't fold up however. These have the bent angles on top to keep in place...

more shown on google search- might give you good idea on what to look for...

  • This is something that comes to mind as well, although it is more intended for use outside than inside.
  • Just store the ladder on the bed when not in use. Wrap in a blanket and tuck a end of the blanket under mattress if you think it might move around.

    Thanks,
that telescoping model was exactly what I want. Found it on the Sears site for $99! Just a matter of knowing what it was called to look it up!

We needed 5-ft with our first Class C. The RV ladders are too rough on the feet with their little round rungs. Tried a taller version of the folding one RoyB pictured but it had to be used open and wasn't very steady.
Ended up with a 5-ft aluminum stepladder, used closed, just rested against the edge of the bunk. With its rubber feet, and the carpeted RV floor, it always stayed steady. I thought of doing away with the back legs and bucket shelf, but why...? It worked fine as it was and gave me a ladder for other uses as well.
It was one-hand-light and didn't rattle when stored on the bed for travel. Very easy to lift up and out of the way when camped.
