Ladders

Yalls,

I have a class-a that does not have a ladder on the back. I can't really install one either because it's a toy hauler. So, I'm looking for a ladder I can keep in the RV somewhere that I can use to get on the roof, and/or at least reach the top of the windows to wash them.

What ladders are you all packing with you if you need/want one? I keep looking at them and I'm not sure I need a 13 foot telescoping ladder for $220. A tall(ish) step ladder seems like the way to go, but how/where do I store something like that? Anyway, I've talked myself in circles about this and bought nothing, so I figured I'd ask you guys.

What type of ladders are you all packing with you?

Thanks,
Brian

If your intent is to wash windows the folding step ladders (6' or 7') are very handy & easy to store. If you want to get on/off the coach roof SAFELY the telescoping ladder really should go a couple feet beyond the roof. If your coach is 12' a 13' telescoping ladder would be too short in my opinion. I carry a 15'6" telescoping ladder.

Wow, ok good point on the 15'6 ladder. If I need to, I can set up my toy hauler's ramp as a "patio" (1500 lb capacity) and get up that way with a shorter ladder. I'm not 100% convinced I need to get on the roof much though. I'll feel that one out I think.

Thanks for the info on your setup.

which brand, how compact does it get and where do you keep it?
  • I don’t have your problem, but a quick search on Lowes shows both telescoping and folding ladders for much less money. Their folding ones can be used as a step ladder or an extension. I would have thought that having a toy hauler you could put it in the garage, but maybe it’s full of toys.

And not to pick a nit... Y’all is already plural.

When someone say “Hey Y’all watch this” your next move is to dial 911 cause someone is going to do something dumb.
