Leak at rear bed room slide

I posted on here about a month ago about my leak. A forum member suggested raising one side of the MH which I did and it stopped the leak. I went in a minute ago to check it out since we have had some rain, it was not wet but when I moved the slide out then back in it was wet where it was before Now this is not clear water it is a brown looking color like a rot wood or rust color, also as I stated it looked like the water was coming from the inside of the slide (the enclosed section) it is on the front right hand corner it you are standing at the foot of the bed. Planning on taking it in to a service center as soon as it warms up a bit. Does any one have any suggestions as to where the leak is coming from. Want to put up for sale but every time I get ready something else pops up. Sorry about long thread. Thanks Roy

  • the slide is in when it rains no water, but if I extend it out and bring it back in I get water at the bottom right hand corner, yes I have a slide topper, I gave it a good look today on the outside looks like the caulk is missing about 6 inches at the bottom, of the slide on the same corner where the leak is, I hope that is it. Thanks Roy

Camping World sells a roof sealant....forget the name right now..but comes in clear or white in Qts or gallon size......can put in on with a old brush or trowel..thick but brush works well.....i do the roof of all my RV's over the yrs and had 8 total.....BUT,I don't do the whole roof.....I use a brush and do all the seams and all the spots that have screws....wipe with a rag as I go..look for rust spots and any flaking....and then just check rest of the roof for any cracks and cover if see a spot that might leak.....It took me a Qt to do a 41 ft motorhome......
I did this to all my RV's every 2-3 years ......Chuck

Don't know if this is the stuff you are talking about, but this works great. Had a bad bedroom slide leak did all seams the used a 2" roller under the topper, takes about a day to dry.

We just had a hard rain for about 30 minutes, when out to check the leak on the slide, the slide does not leak unless I extend the slide then when I bring it back in is when it leaks at the bottom cannot see where any water has run down the side, going to get my son to help me and see what we can find when it warms up. Would like to thank you all for the suggestions Roy

Sounds like just rain sitting on the slide out roof and when you bring it in some of the rain runs off into RV, somewhat normal, do you have a awning over the slide out, this will help keep the roof dryer during a rain.

  • Our 08 HR had a leak at the front corner of our bedroom slide. I was convinced it was in the seal because it was always wet, in heavy rains only, on the floor right at the front of the slide opening and could be felt on the wall. The leak turned out to be at the back edge of the shower skylight and would migrate to and down the front of the slide opening. Also make sure you have resealed your windows. If they leak the floor of the slide will delaminate at the edges.
  • I had a leak on my living room slide in the roof, unbolted the slide out awning and extended the slide out, caulk all the seems and applied white rubber roof coating, also did the same on my bedroom slide since I had extra caulking and rubber coating, just had a all day rain here in Vegas a week ago and no more leaks..

Pretty much what you may have to do as well, even slide outs needs roof work.
