As someone who has restored quite a few Classic cars of the 50's and 60's, I have to disagree. Properly maintained, leather will far outlast vinyl.
If the RV owner, or any old car owner, totally ignores his seats, and just lets them age in the sun, then both will deteriorate. There are some fine Classic cars out there with the original leather still serviceable, that were built before vinyl was even used in production.
