Try disconnecting the 7 way connector to the trailer.
Many controllers apply what is called holding brake effort after a short time if the brake lights are on.
The Prodigy has a feature to disable the Hold while backing a trailer.
Use this procedure.
Reverse
When backing a trailer you can cancel “BOOST” and
“HOLD” for a period of three minutes. This can be
accomplished by pressing the boost button continuously
for five seconds with the brake pedal depressed.
