Leveling Jack Pads/Slide Out Supports

If your RV lowers for any reason; leaking leveling jacks, leaking tire, jack sinking into ground...then the slideout supports WILL do major damage to the slide. NEVER use slideout supports.

As for jack pads; depends on the circumstances, but never a bad thing.

We do exactly as the consensus indicates for this post, jackpads as circumstances dictate and a big never for slideout supports.

It a great idea to always carry jack pads of some sort with you. They are mainly used for soft ground or like stated when the park requires it. After using both wood planks and the lego type blocks, both of which I had problems with. I ended up getting level pads from big foot and boy are they special and great. https://www.outriggerpads.com/

I also way back 4 rigs ago thought I needed those slide out supports. I bought a pair, there great for holding things up in my work shed. Nothing about them is good for and RV stay away from them period!

I put SnapPads on my MH this year and I really like them. I don't have to worry about campgrounds that request you use pads.

Slide out supports....never. Potential for damage exceeds any benefits, and any slide out I've had never needed any stabilization.

Pads only needed if park says so, or on hot asphalt, soft sand/dirt. If you think you need them (or sakes guy says you need them) to support a slide then get slide/RV fixed/walk away.

I use jack pads first mine when first time used they press them self's inside of opening so now they are locked on. I like have a larger foot print and some parks require something under jack so not to hurt concrete pad you are parked on. Just say you have a 10 inch you may have 14 to 16 in base it make a difference in sand or gravel.

i use jack pads only on soft ground or when requiresd by park owners. slide out supports? never as they are not needed nor recommended by mfg.

Only used jack pads if needed or required.

Slide out supports - never, what happens if the RV drops for some reason? Not to mention required support for a slide suggest marginal design.
