light strip attached to Motor home below awning?

I would like to put a light strip attached to my motor home right below the awning when it's retracted. Any recommendations on what to use? How do I attach it to the side of the motor home. I want ...

Make sure they are weatherproof. I've put up several, over the last few years. Never got good results with the sticky side tape. Always used clear silicone. Got strips on both sides of the MH. Never had those stuck with silicone come loose.
