What they put in the tires was salt water where I lived on the farm, and it's there not for balance but for TRACTION (Weight) couple hundred pounds of it. Works great.
to the O/P. The theory behind the liquid is the same as behind the powder or beads, I won't say it's better, or worse, but I suspect it's less likely to mess up your valve core than powder... And it's not as messy when the tire fails or is replaced before failure.
I do understand the theory..I'm not (yet) sold on it however.
