locked brakes

I have a 2002 Monaco Diplomat that I haven't driven for about 6 weeks Just went to get it ready for camping and the brakes seemed to be locked. Any thoughts?

Your Diplomat is a Diesel Pusher with air brakes, correct? Are you saying the brakes are still locked up with the air pressure in the normal range?

If you don't have a MINIMUM of 75 lbs on each air tank the brakes will not release. Doug

  • Yup, particularly if parked with moisture on the brake drum/shoes, the emergency/parking brake can stick.

    Gently F, N, R, N .......

Worse case you will need to crawl under and hit the shoes with a hammer.
  • Try backing up. If that doesn't release the brakes, then use a hammer to beat on the drums
