- uncle_tExplorerfor the freezer mine came with a chrome doo hickey that would resemble a u shaped eye bolt. the "eye" is attached to the freezer door and the u shaped bolt which is attached to the cabinet on the left side as you face it lifts, turns, and slides into the eye bolt.
The doors are simply held closed with a 5 inch black strap with a plastic loop on it and velcro to stick to itself. you have seen these things all over the place. bike racks- holds folding ladders together, etc etc - BobGedExplorer

I use a horseshoe type thingy, picture a large U shaped device. It has long arms on it so that they will reach down in front of the freezer. The center goes through the fridge handles. It is made from 1/2" plywood and is covered with felt.
No metal at all, no velcro, no plastic latches.
I've seen a coach with this setup and it is ingenious in its effective simplicity. - Executive45Explorer III

We also use a bungee cord after the first time out we lost a gallon of milk - wa8yxmExplorer IIII'm thinking the old 2x4 bar might work.. With a couple of modifications.
First, make it a 1x1, easier to wrangle
Second use a couple of hook and eye latches,Only do not buy the latch kits, just the Eyes and a couple S hooks. Run the eyes into the wood trim either side of the door, Cut the 1x1 to the exact width beween the eyes, close one of the "S" openings and screw it onto the end of the 1x2, Screw tight. Hook in the eyes.. Door is now barred.
Option 2 is like that, 2 eyes, bungee cord.
