Looking For a Pleasure Way Traverse

Keep watching RV trader, many dealers list there. I watch for Traverses, some days there might be two or three in the whole country, sometimes none, sometimes a half dozen or more.

Not many were made. For several years, the whole B market was not much more than a few thousand units a year.

Another option is to connect with a used vehicle dealer (there are conversion van specialists on many metro areas) tell him what you want, they can find the units when they are still wholesale, pick up at auction for an assured customer. These, and some categories of travel trailers, as well as specialized motorcoaches, fall into that part of the market where most dealers don't buy them for stock. Kind of like classic cars.

If you want new, Sportmobile can build you something much like the Traverse, but no longer on the E150, since the van is no longer built. Unless you bring your own van. They can build it on a higher payload van too.

Rv trader, RVT, craigslist, Escapees Classified, RvOnline.com are all places to keep an eye out for one. Good luck

I found my better results on craigslist...ads by owners- not dealers.

In AZ there is no sales tax on private party sales so a 9.3% saving over a dealer

roadtrekchapter.org has a classifieds section too.

I find great value is asking an owner and seeing how they treat their house and property...at a dealer they have no idea or interest in disclosing the history/concerns

2.) the genny is not super-awesome- it is like having a lawn mower in the living room...just noisy.
I figure fire it up, use the microwave...shut it off

I am hoping to camp places where AC is not required ( hoping) so that means mountains and sea shore

strategy is aiming to use more 12 volt...and 120 vac on shore power.

2 b.)some owners are not mechanically inclined, the genny requires maintenance. aside from oil and filter changes, it needs adjustment if at altitude ( simple, remove cover and..) and gas cannot be allowed to sit in the carb.

3.) youtube has some great videos from dealers in which the layouts and features are shown- this make for easy comparisons from your sofa.

PPL Motorhomes in Houston is a good resource, they sell all kinds of RV's and their website can give you ideas on pricing. Think about your real need for a generator. We traveled in a PW Excel for years and were glad we didn't have one. Our new RV, a B+, has a generator and I spend more time taking care of it than using it.

I just looked at one as fresh as can be owned by a music professor in Colorado. Check out either Craigslist/HighRockies/Rvs or the SummitDaily.com. He's asking $47,500 for a 2012 with only 6,000 miles on it. Otherwise I just saw one at GuarantyRV.com up in Oregon. Lastly, I think there was one on the Tucson Craigslist. Just too limited for my taste, but glad I checked it out.

Plenty of used Sportsmobiles out there with that floorplan and a much much better top. That floorplan is called an EB 50 (extended bed van) or RB50 (regular bed). Bed as in floor length like truck bed. Who knows, you may find a Sportsmobile floorplan you like better in your search.

I found my RoadTrek on Craigslist and then realized it was a neighbor here in the condos that was selling his. He use it once and then found the bed was only 5'11" and he was 6'2". It is a '95 with only 86K miles. I even got every piece of paper for work since it was purchased new.
