Looking for CB Hookup

We have a 2013 Phaeton model 36GH. In the manual the CB antenna wire is suppose to be under the dash on the drivers left hand side. I am having trouble finding it. HELP
Thanks for any and all comments

  • CB's are just tools! They are not by nature GOOD OR BAD:) The value of the CB's is directly correlated to the knowledge & ability of the user of the CB.
    1. Ch. 13 is not the channel for RVers who want to talk to other RVers:(
    2. Ch. 17 is primarly used on the west coast, Ch. 19 is primarly used in all the other states.
    3. The SQUELCH knob will filter and allow you to control what you want to hear or not hear.
    4. Swearing and bad language---I hear far more unexceptable language in Jr. High schools and High Schools:(
To control your exposure, ask for the specific road conditions or locations of "bears" you want and then turn up your SQUELCH knob!

  • I have a cobra with severe weather alert. First time CB gets you out of a bad traffic jam, then you will know if its worth it.
  • CB channel 13....... I have a decal saying that and most of the time it's pretty quiet, but every once in awhile I'll find someone there. It is also amazing just how often on 18-19,you can get road info just by asking and no four letter words. There aren't very many Ham radios out there and cell phones don't cut it when trying to talk from one rig to another and you don't know their phone number. Besides it's against the law in a lot of states to use them when you're driving.
In the Final Rule,The federal Law on the use of cell phones while driving a truck or bus,it is a fine of $2750 if you're caught talking on a hand held cell phone. Also, a couple of those and you lose your CDL. The policy of the school district where I drive is that if you're caught by the boss or a LEO, YOU'RE GONE.
  • I disconnected mine. Very seldom did I hear anyone on CH 11, 19. When I did, the four letter words and the talk about someone's Mother would cause my ears to burn real bad.
  • the antenna should be easy to spot probably tied up someplace under the dash. my chieftain had three wires beside it, ground, always on +, and switched +
    bumpy
  • Mine was under the dash left of the steering column....it was coiled up and tied with a twist tie and hard to see.
  • Do a lot of RVer's still uise the CB radio? I know there has been a big decline in general usage.

I just purchased a new RV and it does not have an antenna or pre-wired for CB.

    Thanks
  • "want-a-be"....Remember, someone writes the brochure and manual, while two or three different guys may have been installing dashes that day and running the wires in the general area.

I've found that if it's not hanging above steering column on either side, it's often draped over to the corner where the wiring typically feeds into the side panel by your left leg (up under the dash).
