Looking for Class C advice

I've got a very steep driveway and currently have a 31 foot trailer that there's no way to store at home. The entrance to my driveway is steep. I'd drag the bumper and have the tires off the ground. Thinking about a class c. What class c has the rear axle toward the rear the farthest back and has clearance so I wouldn't drag the rear bumper? I'd love to have my RV at home.

Do you know the angle you are dealing with? Can you change the angle of attack?

Since posting my first reply, the thought occurred to me that it might be more important how DEEP the gutter is as opposed to the elevation angle of the actual driveway.

Also....from looking at mine, I think you could achieve some additional clearance, maybe as much as a foot, by removing the hitch and associated brackets.....IF you never will use it.

And I don't agree at all with the statement that none of them will work. The original thought that getting the back wheels closer to the back is actually correct; it might not be enough extra clearance but it will be some.

  • Hi,

I installed a heavy duty roller in the trailer hitch on my class C. I think you would have better luck with flipping the axles on a trailer than on finding a class C with lots of clearance.
  • I believe Coachmen Freelander makes a 19 footer :)
Even then its gonna drag ! No way around it unfortunately !
Can install those rollers on the back end, depending on how steep the driveway is ya might high-center it...
  • It's probably gonna have to be pretty small.
I have a 28' and not a real steep drive and still have that problem.
