No, the Winnebago is not comparable to a Dutch Star which is much better made.
And, what do you base your opinion on? They are in about the same price range new. And, I know people that have both and they are both very happy with their units. There are a lot of people on here that dis my Golf Stream Tour Master, but I couldn't be happier with mine. We've been full timing in ours for three years and its been great and its a 2006. Yes, things go wrong, like we had to replace an A/C unit, but what kind of A/C unit does a Dutch Star have? That's correct the same dometic A/C. I'm not saying Newmar doesn't make a good unit, they do. Just saying Winnebago and other manufacturers do too.
Both of the mini winies we had were ****, cabinets were made from low grade plywood. hinges pulled out on most of the doors.
Newmar cabinets are real wood, in 15 years nothing has came loose, none of the appliances have failed.
Journey's are not minnie winnies. You're comparing apples to oranges.
The Journey's have solid wood cabinets as does our Tour Master. I have seen the exact same cabinets in late model Phaetons. Newmar's cabinets are no better.
