looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

04 & 05 owners,
My wife and I recently looked at the new PAs and she fell in love with the 37C. She really likes the bathroom. The floorplan is really roomy. From what I've read here you new owners seem pretty happy with your purchases. I do have a question regarding the ccc. On the 37C the brochure lists the gvwr as 22,000lbs. and the base weight (no gas, water, cargo or passengers etc.) at 19,500lbs. When I do the math and add the weight for full tanks based on capacities in the brochure , I come up with a total of approx. 20,700lbs. That is just 1300lbs. less than the gvwr without any passengers, pets, food or liquid refreshments, not to mention the usual assortment of stuff that you normally carry. I am wondering if I'm missing something or do the chassis and weight placards inside the MH have different figures. I didn't notice all of this until I got home and started reading. To me 1300lbs. does not seem like a lot of room to play with. The brochure figures vary by the different models with the 35G & 37A, two slides, showing ccc of approx 2100lbs and the 36B at 1600lbs under the same conditions. We currently own a 1987 34' PA and are thinking about upgrading. Should I think twice about 3 slides and the extra weight?

You need to weigh before you buy any motorhome, gas or DP. Before I sign on the doted line, I had the dealer fill the gas tank, full water tank and 1/4 tank of black water. I have my wife, the sales person and myself drive the rig to a truck stop and get it weighed.

You take this figure, subtract it from the 22,000 pounds or what ever your rig's max weight is and now you have the only figure that you can count on. The weight you have left is what you can load into your rig. This why you depend only on your figures not theirs or some sales person.

Our theory is to look at 2 to 3 year old coaches and see what they look like after they are no longer brand new - the older PA's sure look tired to us.....

There sure are a lot of fine coaches out there - I would honestly suggest you look at and drive few more before settling on a PA.....

We started looking at Southwinds and PA's when we decided to get a new coach, and it didn't take long before we found others that we preferred over the PA.....

I have a 2004 35G which I purchased two months ago and now have 5500 miles on it. My list of 35 items needing repair has yet to be dealt with by the dealer. Workhorse changed the front shocks with Monroe Gas Magnums RV shocks which has helped the porpoising problem. My main complaint is the wandering steering even after I installed the Safe T Plus. Was interested to read about the sensor for the compass as I have the same problem. On last trip from Utah I detected slight vibration under light load. I could feel it at the steering wheel and the accelerator pedal. I understand that the 2005 had the triple entry step. I could surely use one. Imagine most of you use a step stool. I would appreciate and would subscribe to any site to exchange information. We love the interior of our motorhome, so after arriving home from out last trip my wife said, "can you buy a truck to tow this thing, I sure enjoy living in it but not riding in it".

Paul, What kind of CCC did you come up with after all of the weighing? How far off of the manufacturers figures in the brochure and on the weight placards in the MH?

I couldnt have said that better myself. No matter what your going to have people that think no other coach is acceptable if its not what they want or own.
As stated before we have a 04 37c and are very happy with it. It suits us and I dont care what anyone else thinks about it. If you like a PA, get one, if not get what YOU like.

Buddy, the CCC weight was better than stated on the weight placard they put in the M/H. I never looked at the brochure weight, I always do the weighing myself (I learned this from an old RV'er). When I look at the weight placards, everyone is differant on how they weigh the unit. My weight slip is in the M/H when I can I'll get it and give the info so I don't give out bad info. All I can say now is that the Pace Arrow had enough CCC left over for my stuff.

So we picked up our 37C on Thursday and returned home with it tonight. We LOVE it! For obvious reasons, I was a cat hanging from the ceiling the entire trip home, since it was our first time driving the MH for any great distance. We researched this purchase for months, and concluded that what we wanted was the PA 37C. There were two units exactly the way we wanted in Texas where we live. We ended up five hours away on Thursday to pick it up. The dealer installed the tow bar on our Ford Explorer, and arranged for the drive shaft work to be completed the following day. The entire experience was very pleasant! We upgraded from a 5th wheel and love our decision! Granted, driving styles were quickly modified, we are more than pleased. I have been a nervous wreck for a couple of weeks, anticipating the purchase and driving it home. I didn't know what to expect. I am happy to learn of others out there who are just as happy with their Pace Arrow's! As a matter of fact, we went camping with it in Fort Worth for a race this weekend, when someone knocked on our door. He told us that he had been doing the same research and knew that there were only two like ours in the state. He was going to purchase one of them. Now he has to get on the ball and get to the other one before it is sold, too!!

By the way...does anyone know...would a steering stabilizer help keep control of the MH during windy days? I know it is not necessarily a PA question, but I thought I would throw it out there.

Sharp, have fun with your new PA. After awhile you'll start making it your own.

The first thing I did inside was replace the cabnet doors over the pullup table that had glass with all wood doors and also put doors over the pullup table. My wife was happy because she can use the cabnet for storage that you can't see in and when you walk in the unit it looks like a nice cabnet with the table hidden behind the cabnet doors.

I also had the cabnet man make two wooden air return covers to replace the metal ones they had in the kitchen.

Both matched the wood in our PA and looks great.
