- MrMudstudExplorerI have a 03 PA and on my doghouse it has an opening on top of approximately 18x22” attached by 3 stainless screws to service the engine. If I would ever need to remove the whole doghouse, how do you remove it? As I can detect, there are no hinges or latches around the edges of the shell. The carpet feels smooth as no lumps or high spots to indicate any mechanical gear. Did anyone ever removed theirs or can it be removed without tearing up the carpet? This is my 2nd PA, and my other one was made the same way.
I spoke to a friend who has a 02 Southwind, and he states his has latches on the edge of the doghouse that you can see. The whole cover comes off to service the engine. Any ideas........... - plodderExplorer

Has anyone removed the ice maker? I never used the ice maker and would like to have more freezer room. I looked at it but was not too sure what I am getting into. Can the ice maker be removed without removing the refrig?

My ice maker worked itself loose and fell to the bottom of the freezer, so yes it can be removed without removing the refrig. You will need to close the valve on the water supply line. You can find that in the back of the refrig ... you'll need to remove the outside vent cover. Hope this helps.
Thanks, also can you remember what screws had to be removed? This is life, your ice maker just fell off and you had to have it replaced. Knowing my luck, my ice maker will fight me to the last screw before I can remove it.
Thanks
I will take a look at mine and get back to you on what screws to remove. If I recall there are only a couple, but I will check to make sure.
After looking at my ice maker tonight, there are three machine screws underneath going through a bracket into the ice maker. Removing the three machine screws will allow you to remove the ice maker ... when you pull it out there will be a wiring harness to unplug as well. Unfortunately the bracket will remain. I have not removed it, but there are ony another 2 or 3 screws holding it in.
Good luck. - plodderExplorer

I removed the plastic drain plug and a lot of stuff came out with the water, so it really needed draining. When I put the drain plug back in, it broke off leaving most of the plastic plug inside the treaded drain. It took me over an hour to get the plastic out of the drain without messing up the treads.
I went to the rv parts and they related that they see that a lot because the plastic plug is hollow and gets brittle due to the heat over time. They related the plastic plug needs to be replaced every few years. - Paul_TurpinExplorer

Paul - ParrotguyExplorerRe: Fleetwood Solar Charger
The red light lights if its charging. But more to the point its only 5 watts which is next to nothing. It wouldn't pay to have it repaired by someone other than yourself. If you want measurable solar charging you will have to add a panel to the roof. I put up a 100 Watt panel - it works great but they are not cheap. - MrMudstudExplorer

Yes, check to see if any current is coming from the solar panel, your light may be burnt or a bad connection. But, other owners had to replace there panel only after a few years. - Cathy_JohansenExplorerSOLAR CHARGING SYSTEM - NEEED SOME HELP
